This article examines the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) agents on procurement and supply chain management, highlighting recent advancements and their implications for organizational efficiency. The article explores how AI-powered systems are revolutionizing traditional procurement processes through intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and data-driven decision-making capabilities. The article investigates key technological developments in supplier discovery, demand forecasting, contract management, and risk mitigation, supported by real-world implementation case studies from manufacturing and retail sectors. Through comprehensive analysis, it demonstrates how AI integration has evolved procurement from a transactional function to a strategic driver of organizational value. The article also addresses critical implementation challenges, including data privacy considerations, legacy system integration, and infrastructure requirements. Furthermore, it examines future development trajectories, particularly the convergence of AI with blockchain technology and the emergence of collaborative AI ecosystems.
