Brain Computer Interface (BCI) is a mechanism that helps to develop connection between brain and external device without requiring any physical movement. Brain computer interface has revolutionized the healthcare world through controlling prosthetic limbs, restoring vision, seizure stroke prediction and neurotherapy. Brain Computer Interface mechanism is a ground-breaking innovation for neurologically disorder , paralyzed , physically disabled , spinal code injuries , handicapped person. Traditionally Neurologically Impaired and physically disabled patient depend on sign language to communicate with their surrounding but in recent years Brain Computer Interface mechanism enhance the traditional approaches and assistive technologies. Also it overcome the challenges of orthodox approach such as non-verbal communication techniques like, blinking eyes , eye movements , letter boards, gesture or facial expressions. Patients can communicate through BCI, brain computer interface identify the brain signal pattern and decode the pattern into meaningful output that makes sense to the external surrounding. BCI can monitor brain signals to detect cognitive decline and mental health conditions like anxiety, depression. It is very beneficial for coma patients, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis(ALS) , locked-in-syndrome patients. However, BCI has some challenges such as signal variability, data processing, ethical concerns, and security vulnerabilities, high cost, risky despite these challenges, it is more reliable than orthodox approach also it improves overall quality of individual’s life.
