Abstract

The display technology sector is experiencing a transformative evolution driven by breakthrough developments in MicroOLED, Quantum Dots (QD), and Flexible OLED technologies. This comprehensive article examines the current state of display technologies. We also review upcoming MicroOLED technology, which offers exceptional pixel density and power efficiency for near-eye applications. The article evaluates how MicroOLED's silicon-based fabrication enables superior performance metrics crucial for virtual and augmented reality systems, alongside complementary advances in QD and Flexible OLED technologies, which enable new possibilities in LCD and OLED technology. By analyzing manufacturing developments in the Asia-Pacific region and emerging applications across automotive and consumer electronics sectors, the article demonstrates how MicroOLED and enhancements in existing OLED technologies are creating new possibilities for visual interfaces and form factors. The convergence of these technologies is reshaping traditional display applications while enabling novel form factors in wearables, head-mounted displays, and smart devices. Additionally, the article explores how these advanced display solutions are transforming commercial sectors, including retail, healthcare, and education, through enhanced visual experiences and interactive capabilities.
